INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLING SIMPLE HVAC
1. Download and save the Setup file “Setup.zip”. Save it to a folder on your machine.
2. Once it has finished downloading, click on the file “setup.zip” and proceed through the process of UNZIPPING the folder. Once you have unzipped this folder, you will see 2 files.
3. If you are using Windows XP: You must be logged in as an administrator. Double-click on “SimpleHVACSetup” to start the installation.
4. If you are using Vista or Windows 7: Right-click on the “SimpleHVACSetup” file and choose “Run as Administrator”.
5. Some anti-virus programs may insist on checking the exe file. Allow this to happen. There should be no errors.
6. On Vista and Windows 7 with User Account Control, you will be asked if you wish to allow the program to continue. Choose “Continue”.
7. If you are using Windows 8, you might get a warning saying “Windows protected your PC. Windows Smartscreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting.” Click “OK” on this screen to allow installation.
8. If you are using Windows 8, you will be prompted to install [.NET Framework 3.5], which is required to operate the Simple HVAC software. Proceed to install this on your machine.
9. At the Welcome screen chose “Next”
10. Accept the License Agreement and click “Next”
11. You are now presented with the install folder choice. Leave the defaults unchanged and choose “Next”.
12. On the Select Programs Menu Folder choose “Next”.
13. On the ready to Install Screen choose Install.
14. The program will now be installed. Please be patient as this make take a few minutes. Once complete you may launch the program.
15. NOTE to XP users: If you are using Windows XP, you will be asked to input the user password for your operating system. If you do not know this password, please see the instructions below for resetting your password. You must do this for the program to install completely.
To UNINSTALL the program:
1. From the program list, hover over “Simple HVAC” and you should see an option to UNINSTALL.
2. Right Click the Uninstall option, and Select “Run As Administrator”.
Instructions for resetting your user password for Windows XP:
1. Click START in the bottom right corner, then choose CONTROL PANEL.
2. Select USER ACCOUNTS, then from the next screen select USER ACCOUNTS again.
3. At the bottom of the next screen, it will ask you to choose an account to change. Select the account you wish to edit.
4. From the next screen, select “Change my password”.
5. Once you have successfully changed the password, go through the Installation process for the Simple HVAC program again to make sure everything installs correctly and completely.
